A good blender for a vegan lifestyle requires high power as well as flexibility in order to grind nuts and blend smoothies well. Check the following choices for a deeper and closer look at the best vegan mixers worth finding. All were chosen because they can bring warmth, quality and deliciousness to the table.

9 Nutritious Food for Vegans

In order not to be deficient in nutrients, vegans should pay attention to adding nutritious foods, balancing 4 groups of nutrients in daily meals. Here are the best vegan food groups you should consider adding to your meal.

1. Beans

Legumes are rich in protein and can substitute for animal protein sources such as pork, poultry, fish, and eggs. Legumes, especially lentils, peas are also rich in iron, fiber, folate, manganese, zinc, antioxidants, and beneficial plant compounds.

However, legumes contain toxins, which can reduce mineral absorption. To reduce harm, you should soak beans, ferment or cook them.

2. Nuts

Nuts are also rich in protein, which can replace protein from meat. In addition, nuts are rich in iron, fiber, magnesium, zinc, selenium, vitamin E, and antioxidants. You should buy unprocessed nuts because the process can lose nutrients or add oil, sugar, salt, and other harmful food additives.

3. Hemp seeds, flax seeds, and chia seeds

All 3 nuts are rich in protein, easy to digest. The ratio of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids in hemp seeds is considered optimal for human health. Research shows that hemp seeds help reduce premenstrual and menopausal symptoms, reduce inflammation, improve a number of skin problems.

Chia and flax seeds are rich in alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), an essential omega-3 fatty acid that the body can convert into eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). EPA and DHA play an important role in the development and maintenance of the nervous system. These fatty acids also help relieve pain, inflammation, depression and anxiety.

4. Tofu and soy products

Tofu, tempeh can replace meat because they are rich in protein. Soybeans are also rich in iron and calcium.

Tempeh is fermented beans (can use soybeans, chickpeas…). The fermentation process reduces the number of natural toxins present in soy, which can increase the number of nutrients that the body can absorb. Fermentation can also produce small amounts of vitamin B12 – a micronutrient that vegans are prone to deficiency.

5. Plant milk with added calcium

Vegans tend to be deficient in calcium compared to meat-eaters. For this reason, vegans should add plant milk and vegetable yogurt in their daily menu.

Those who want to increase protein intake should drink milk and soy yogurt, hemp. Coconut milk, almonds, rice, and oats contain less protein.

6. Seaweed

Seaweed contains DHA, an essential fatty acid with many health benefits. Algae such as spirulina and chlorella are also complete protein sources.

In addition, seaweed contains magnesium, riboflavin, manganese, potassium, iodine and healthy antioxidants. Iodine in seaweed plays an important role in thyroid metabolism and function.

7. Fermented foods

Sprouting and fermenting are simple methods to help reduce toxins and increase the number of nutrients in plants. Fermented foods are rich in probiotics, helping to improve the digestive system and immune function. They also contain vitamin K2, which is good for bones and teeth, reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease and cancer.

Fermented foods you should add are Tempeh, miso, natto, pickles, kimchi and kombucha tea.

8. Whole grains

Whole grains provide carbs, fiber, iron, B vitamins, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc and selenium. However, whole grains contain toxins, which can limit the absorption of beneficial nutrients. To reduce toxins, you should eat sprouted cereals.

9. Vegetables

You can use fruits and vegetables to replace animal products like meat and eggs in recipes. Mashed bananas can be an alternative to eggs in a recipe. Banana ice cream is also a popular substitute for ice cream. Simply grind 1 frozen banana until smooth. Then add the preferred topping.

  1. Mr. Drake Schulist Jr says:

I have a Vitamix. I dont know the specific model sorry and arent home to check, but Ive never heard a bad review on any of them. Mine is from Costco and was $700 but I use it daily. Multiple times a day! Its the best blender Ive had for making things like really thick smoothie bowls, ones with frozen fruit, and just a splash of water.

Also for nut milk and sauces containing nuts. It blends super smooth! I also had a mini food processor but I never used it once I got my Vitamix (which was 18 months ago) so I gave it away. I use the Vitamix for everything. I cant recommend it highly enough! It is a high price point so not attainable for everyone but if youre using it daily its worth the cost IMO as a staple in the kitchen. Plus it usually comes with a lifetime warranty!

  2. Dr. Velva O'Conner Jr says:

I came into my marriage with my refurbished Vitamix. My wife entered our relationship with a refurbished Blendtec. We keep both and use them for different things. She says that we could get away with just the Vitamix. However, she prefers to make hummus in the Blendtec. I prefer to make sorbet in the Vitamix. See if you can try out your friend’s blenders and see which is right for you.

  3. Eileen Hauck says:

They are both great. The minor things that make one better than the other wouldn’t be noticed if you didn’t have both machines. Between my parents and siblings, we have 3 Vitamixes and 2 Blendtec’s. We all survive when we cook at one another’s homes. All by one of the machines was bought refurbished and none of them have had any issues. I think that the newer wider container Vitamix would be my top choice but it isn’t a big difference. With either one, you will have a machine for the rest of your foreseeable life.
